Various applications to the Immigration Services Agency
Japan's Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act stipulates various applications and notifications that foreign residents must submit.
Application for Certificate of Eligibility（COE）(Zairyu shikaku shutoku kyoka Shinsei)
Foreigners who wish to enter Japan in medium and long term must obtain Certificate of Eligibility(COE) in advance. COE is issued by Immigration Bureau in Japan. Foreigners must submit the COE to Japanese overseas diplomatic establishment to get VISA, and can enter Japan with this VISA.
Application for Change of Status（Zairyu shikaku henkou kyoka shinsei)
Application for Change of Status is needed when foreginers staying in Japan try to do the activities which belong to other VISA status and try to change Working Status to Residence Status etc. For example, Foreign studens who get a job in Japan after graduation of Japanese universities must change their Student status to Engineer/Specialist in Humanity/International Services.
Application for Extension of Period of Stay(Zairyu kikan koushin kyoka shinsei)
Application for Extension of Period of Stay is needed when foreigners staying in Japan wish to extend their stay for the purpose of doing the same activities within current VISA status.If forigners who stay in Japan neglect this application before expiration of their VISA, they will be illegaly overstaying.
Application for Permission to Acquire Status of Residence(Zairyu shikaku shutoku kyoka shinsei)
A foreign national born in Japan or a person having renounced Japanese nationality, who intend to stay in Japan for over 60 days after the date of birth or the date of renouncement of Japanese nationality, respectively, must file an Application for Permission to Acquire Status of Residence with a Regional Immigration Bureau within 30 days from the date of birth or the date of renouncement of Japanese nationality.
Application for Re-entry Permission(Sainyukoku kyoka shinsei)
If foreigners staying in Japan complete the procedures of Re-entry Permission when they leave Japan like home-coming or traveling, they can stay in Japan with the same status without getting VISA when they return to Japan.There are two kind of Re-entry permission. One is only once permission. Another is multiple efficient permission. Special Re-entry Permission which foreigners can re-enter Japan without Re-entry Permission.is also given under fixed conditons.
Application for Permission to engage in activities other than permitted under the status of residence(Shikakugai katudo kyoka shinsei)
Application for Permission to engage in activities other than permitted under the status of residence is needed when foreigners who have Non Working VISA wish to work in Japan. For example, foreigners staying in Japan with Student VISA can work part time job as long as getting this permission. 1.Blanket permission is given to students part time jobs under the condition of working activities within 28 hours a week. 2.Case by case basis permission is given to concrete conditions like students internship over 28 hours.
Certification of Authorized Employment(Shuro shikaku shoumeisho shinsei)
Certification of Authorized Employment is a document which forigners have a working VISA. This is used when hiring foreiners who changed their jobs.This document prevents employers from being charged with promoting illegal employment.
Application for Permanent Resident(Eiju kyoka shinsei)
Permanent Prsident(PR) is a kind of VISA status. PR VISA has no limit with residency activities and period of stay. Those who have PR VISA can lead a stable life in Japan because they treat as same as Japanese at the field of working.My office provides support for foreign nationals who wish to live a stable life in Japan for a long time.
Special Permission to Stay(Zairyu tokubetu kyoka shinsei)
The Special Permit for Residence is a system that allows foreigners who fall under the grounds for deportation to stay in Japan on a special basis at the discretion of the Minister of Justice, thereby converting an irregular stay into a regular stay. Even if you have overstayed, you may be granted if you have humanitarian reasons, such as your family remaining in Japan.My office provides consultation on special permission to stay applications, preparation of application documents, and support such as accompanying clients to the Immigration Bureau.
